Family Meal Nights happen Wednesday nights before AWANA starting September 14th though April 26th We begin serving at 5:00pm until 6:00pm . There is no charge for dinner however a donation box is there for anyone who wants to share in this ministry.
Anyone who would like to have a dinner prepared for them, Awana families, Senior’s that need a dinner or just company to eat, those just getting off of work, families that need a hot meal, it is open to all. You do not have to be involved in AWANA or belong to Ten Mile Community Church, this is open to everyone in the community.
Janet Heavrin and Judy Berheim started this outreach after Janets Mom passed away and left her with some money. Janet thought a meal before AWANA would be a good idea to help mothers provide a meal for their children rather than a snack before AWANA activities. It was such a success that the Trustee Board thought they should keep it going, and put it into the yearly budget. The working crew started with all seniors, but now we have people serving from 17 years to 85 years of age.
Our goal is to make everyone feel welcome and want to come back, and provide a hot meal. It is so much fun to meet and greet these people they love right back on us. This will be our 7th year serving meals to the community.
We have a different meal every week and an awesome crew of servers. We are always open to new people that want to help. Please contact Darwin or Judy Berheim if you have an interest in preparing and serving in this ministry.
