What We Believe

What We Believe

We Believe …

that the Holy Bible as originally written was verbally inspired and the product of Spirit-controlled men, and therefore has truth without any admixture of error for its matter. We believe that the Bible is the true center of Christian union and the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and opinions shall be tried.

We Believe …

there is one, the only one, living and true God, an infinite, intelligent Spirit, the maker and supreme ruler of heaven and earth. We believe that God is Triune, existing in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, eternal in being, identical in nature, equal in power and glory and having the same attributes and perfections.

We Believe …

man was created in the image and likeness of God, but in Adam’s sin, the race fell. All men inherited a sinful nature, became alienated from God, and are totally unable to retrieve themselves from their lost condition.

We Believe …

the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, receiving a human body and sinless human nature in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. We believe He accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a substitutionary sacrifice. We believe our redemption is made sure to us by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead.

We Believe …

salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose blood was shed for the forgiveness of our sins, that our redemption has been accomplished solely by the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is received by faith alone, and the moment we trust in Him as our Saviour, we pass out of death into everlasting life.

We Believe …

the Church which is the body and bride of Christ, is a spiritual organism made of all born again persons of this present age, irrespective of their affiliations with Christian organizations.

We Believe …

in the personality of Satan, who is the open and declared enemy of God and man.

We Believe …

in that “Blessed Hope”, the personal, imminent coming of the Lord Jesus Christ for His redeemed ones; and in His subsequent return to earth with His saints to establish His Millennial Kingdom.

We Believe …

that all the saved should live in such a manner as not to bring reproach upon the Savior and Lord and that separation from all religious apostasy, all wordly and sinful pleasures, practices, and association is commanded of God.

We Believe …

the Lord Jesus Christ instituted the ordinances of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper to be observed until His return.

We Believe …

that the gifts of evangelists, pastors, and teachers are sufficient for the perfecting of the saints today. Sign-gifts, including tongues, gradually ceased, as the New Testament scriptures were completed and their authority became established. In accord with His will, we believe that God does hear and answer the prayer of faith for the sick and afflicted.
