R U Prepared?

SCRIPTURE:   Ezekiel 38:7 “Get ready; and be prepared, you and all the hordes gathered about you, and take command of them” (NIV).

PRAY:  Ask God to reveal to you any areas of your life where you are not prepared, and/or are not getting prepared for the things He has called you to do.

READ:   1 Peter 1:13-25

FOCUS:  The toughest event or situation to get prepared for is the one that you do not know about or do not expect. Think for a moment about a time that you were selected for a team or a part that you had to try out for. When you were trying out and after you were selected, you knew what would be required of you and what the rules were. Suppose for a moment that you were selected for something, but not told what to be ready to be prepared to do. How difficult and frustrating would that be? The evil one wants us to think that we cannot know in what ways we are to be preparing ourselves since we do not know what God will do with us. We often think that God will prepare us instantly when we get into a specific circumstance or trial, which is very possible because He is a loving God. However, God asks us to be prepared at all times, and God will usually not do for you what He has already told you to do.

1. Do coaches or teachers ever have you do things to prepare that are difficult and/or

uncomfortable for you? If so, why do they do that?

2. How much do you truly rely on God to prepare yourself for the future?

3. Is God telling you to prepare yourself in ways that you are ignoring because you need to know why or they are uncomfortable?

PRAY:  Ask God to show you the preparation that He desires for you to be part of as one of His “chosen generation”.  Also ask God to reveal to you any areas that you are refusing to surrender to His preparation.
